"Any astronomer can predict with absolute accuracy just where every star in the universe will be at 11:30 tonight. He can make no such prediction about his teenage daughter."

Remember to keep your log this year. Put all you can into your log so you know you put all you could into your workout. Tell me you’re writing it down. Tell me you’re writing down your WOD, your metcon, your lifts, your warm-up sets, and whatever else you need to note in a little book every single day.

Because CrossFit is observable, measurable, and repeatable. And if you’re only half-assed observing and repeating, then you’re only half-assed CrossFitting.

You joined CrossFit because some part of you wanted to be held accountable for your workout, your effort, and your life. Don’t give up on that part of yourself now — the part that holds you to a higher standard, the part that wants something you’re not even sure you can reach. Stand fast with that dream. Write down what you tried — and where you failed (and where you succeeded!) and why and how. It’s all going to help you plan and improve.

Improving is a huge component of CrossFit — and life. Preparing for the unknown means taking measurement of the known. So, tell me you’re documenting somewhere other than the PR Board. It’s more important than you think.
